BAHASA INDONESIA COURSE IN YOGYAKARTA

Wisma Bahasa offers 7 proficiency levels of bahasa Indonesia. To know one’s proficiency level of bahasa Indonesia, we suggest every learner take an assessment test before they start. Especially for those who have been spoken Indonesian. From the result of the test, we will know from what level learner must start. The duration of the test will be around one hour. Below is the description of every level (click each level to see the details):

Level 1A (Beginner)

provides learners with the skills needed to use a very limited range of language for basic and immediate survival needs. The length of the course is approximately 23 sessions.

Level 1B (Post-Beginner)

provides learners with the skills needed to use a limited range of language adequate for basic communication The length of the course is approximately 23 sessions.

Level 2A (Pre-Intermediate)

provides learners with the skills needed to use a range of language adequate for short, familiar and non-pressuring communication. The length of the course is approximately 23 sessions.

Level 2B (Intermediate)

provides learners with the skills needed to use a wide range of language adequate for familiar and non-pressuring situations. The length of the course is approximately 23 sessions.

Level 3A (Post-Intermediate)

provides learners with the skills needed to use the language effectively in a variety of situations. The length of the course is approximately 23 sessions.

Level 3B (Pre-Advanced)

provides learners with the skills needed to use the language effectively and fluently in a wide variety of situations. The length of the course is approximately 23 sessions.

Level 4 (Advanced)

provides learners with the skills needed to use the language effectively and effortlessly in most situations. The length of the course is approximately 30 sessions.

Wisma Bahasa  has produced standard materials for general purposes and interests in learning bahasa Indonesia. For specific purposes, Wisma Bahasa would be glad to design certain syllabus and to prepare specific learning materials  without any additional cost. Students have to fill in the enrollment form as complete as possible in order to enable our Teaching Division preparing the most specific syllabus.

Progress test and final test are conducted to assess the students’ learning progress. Students report is given for a student after the completion of the training.

A student can obtain learning certificate after completing minimum of 30 sessions.

Furthermore to the materials we have prepared, we also have some additional CULTURAL PROGRAMS AND FIELD TRIPS to complete  the bahasa Indonesia learning experience, namely:

The classes in Wisma Bahasa Yogyakarta are conducted in sessions, one session is 105 minutes long and you can choose your schedule based on our available sessions as follows:

• Monday – Friday :  session  1, 2, 3, 4, & 5
• Saturday              :  session  1, 2, & 3
• Sunday                 :  session  1, & 2

NOTE:

– Session 1 (08.00 – 09.45)

– Session 2 (10.15 – 12.00)

– Session 3 (13.00 – 14.45)

– Session 4 (15.15 – 17.00)

– Session 5 (17.15 – 19.00)

The schedule itself is quite flexible, you may take more than one session per day, however we recommend no more than three sessions per day for the effectiveness.

As Wisma Bahasa offers flexible programs, you can also choose your preferred topics or focus. Courses can start on any day, therefore, please advise us as to which dates you would like to enrol on, at least one week beforehand.

Wisma Bahasa does not provide classmates. Sunday and public holiday classes are available at special rate.

For our students who need assistances regarding their preparations before coming to stay and study in Wisma Bahasa Yogyakarta, we provide the following services (For more details about our services please see here):

• Visa; Please be noted to not entry Indonesia using tourist visa or exemption visa if one of your purposes is for study. Even if you study only for short time you should use Paid Visa On arrival (VoA) and not Tourist Free Visa. If you would like to study more than 2 months and not holding any visa yet, Wisma Bahasa can sponsor for the Social Cultural Visa.

• Pick up and Drop off Service; We offer a complimentary pick-up and drop-off service from Tugu train station for students arriving in Yogyakarta, therefore, please advise us of your flight details or train schedule at least one week before your arrival date. Service is available starting 7am to 8 pm.

• Accommodation Booking Service; The accommodations vary from   hotels (4 & 5-star), apartment, homestay, Guest House, and boarding house. You may choose according to your budget and preference. The facilities in each accommodation are accordance with Wisma Bahasa’s standards.

• Ticket Arrangements; Wisma Bahasa can assist you in arranging ticket for your departure from Yogyakarta

• Motorbike and Bike Rental; Wisma Bahasa can assist you in renting motorbike or bike for your transportation needs in Yogyakarta.

• Money Changing; Money Changing service in the Finance office of Wisma Bahasa. The Service opens from 08:00 – 15:00, Monday to Friday.

The Finance & Administration offices are open for inquiries and services at 08.00 – 16.00, Monday to Friday. Payment for long term lesson paid by individual should be settled maximum monthly on the last Fridays of each month.

• Any cancellation must be made one day in advance, and is informed to Wisma Bahasa staff during working hours.
• Any class cancellation shall be notified no later than twenty-four (24) hours prior to class commencement. Otherwise, one is subject to 50% of charge. Exception will be given to those who are engaged in emergency situation such as being sick, hospitalised, etc.
• Both the Students and Wisma Bahasa have the right to terminate the Services Agreement for any reason whatsoever, including ceasing services that are already underway.  If the Wisma Bahasa terminates the provision of its service it will make a 100% refund on the remaining sessions. No refunds shall be offered to the Student if the student terminates the agreement, where a service is deemed to have already been provided and is, for all intents and purposes, already underway.  If, subsequent to the payment in advance being made, the agreement is terminated by the student before the services are underway, there shall be a refund of 75% for the unused services.
